I have just finished work on a new book called “Jack and the Baked Beanstalk” for Templar Publishing. I’m particularly excited because it is the first book I have written as well as illustrated. Templar produce some beautiful children’s books so I was thrilled to be able to work with them. Here are a few of the final illustrations and also some of my early development sketches.

These illustrations are complete charm. They are the best of the best of the best!! The kind of illustrations that are the keys to other worlds, where you can just jump in and let your imagination role. I LOVE THEM!!!!! I WANT THE BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!
Incredible work!!!!
These are absolutely fantastic, well done! 🙂 Love Templar’s books.
Awesome illustrations Colin. They have a great sense of scale, feeling and storytelling in them. I would love to see this as an animated film! 🙂
Beautiful!!! Well done my friend!
FANTASTIC!!!!
Lovely work! Very nicely rendered, and a great combination of realism and ‘cartooniness’. There’s a good sense of fun as well. I hope it sells heaps of copies!
Ohhh absolutely stunning! You are one of my favorite illustrators! Fantastic!!! Thanks for the post, and I’ll be looking for the book.
Wow.

Very beautiful work! Deep atmosphere…I like a lot the texture and the treatment
of the illustrations. Bravo!
Amazing! 🙂
Just discovered your work, Colin. Really fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
WOW for years I have loved the artwork in The Emperors New Groove and only just today discovered your website and blog – the man behind the artwork! Your work is so inspiring – I graduated from studying animation last year and am working towards becoming a book illustrator – the fact that you have combined the two in such a beautiful and effective way is awesome. You are now one of my favourite artists! Thank you for sharing your skill and talent with us. 🙂
I’ve just bought it! When you come to publish other fantastic drawings on the blog?
