I have just finished work on a new book called “Jack and the Baked Beanstalk” for Templar Publishing. I’m particularly excited because it is the first book I have written as well as illustrated. Templar produce some beautiful children’s books so I was thrilled to be able to work with them. Here are a few of the final illustrations and also some of my early development sketches.
Esmelia Sniff is pleased to announce the release of her hilarious new book “The Wickedest Witch”. Apparently it’s the first installment of the “Witch Wars” trilogy written by the talented Martin Howard, more details can be seen on her website http://www.witchesatwar.co.uk
And a few more pieces from my time working on the project…
I worked on the production design of Tinkerbell for eighteen months, during that time I thoroughly enjoyed working with the brilliant Paul and Gaetan Brizzi. Here are some of the colour sketches I produced from their storyboards.
More machines, this time witches on motorbikes from “How to Cook Children”
Some of the flying machine sketches I produced a while ago….
Esmelia Sniff, star of the witches’ recipe book “How to Cook Children”, recently purchased a computer in order to write her own blog (or bog as she puts it). As fate has it she was almost immediately offered a three book deal so she is now too busy to write down her daily twitters. Esmelia and her author friend Martin Howard are now hard at work on the series of novels. She has already completed the first story entitled “Witches at War – The Wickedest Witch”, it’s due out in October 2009. The story follows Sam, Esmelia’s young apprentice as she trains to become a fully fledged witch. It’s both funny and charming and I recommend it 100%!
